National Geographic Traveller Food - Oaxaca
This photo story captures Oaxaca’s street food culture through markets, family vendors, roaming stalls and everyday antojitos. More than a guide to what to eat, it looks at food as daily culture, from handmade memelas and molotes to tortas, nieve and tejate. I spent a week photographing real markets and streets with ever-changing light conditions, tight and busy environments, building rapport with vendors and people quickly to create evocative images.
The work later won Best Published Latin America Travel Image at the 2024 LATA Media Awards.
